Why didn't we boycott the Olympics?

The last time I checked it was against everything we stand for in the USA to participate in any type of event with a country that would deny food and service to people based on race, color, or religion.  I think we've not participated in other Olympic games in the past under these conditions.

So why is it that everyone has swept this "little" issue under the rug? Why are we not setting a positive example and standing up for what is right?  Where's the news media?

Are we so messed up that we'd rather turn away from the problem here just to see Phelps win all the Gold?  I am so proud of him, as well as the rest of the American teams participating, just like we all are, but c'mon, why are we not standing up for human rights at the world games, where EVERYONE is watching???

All I see is our fearless leader, cheering with the American flag held upside down, without a care in the world.

The message is clear:  China will not serve blacks and Mongolians, and our leader (George Bush) is condoning this by being a guest at this event.  I guess the "Rednecks" stick together...
