Everyone has their reasons...and they evolve.
For example, I started being Green because a friend of mine came over and told me that I could be saving money by switching from incandescent bulbs to flourescent. Simple and easy change...so I did it. Every time I needed to replace a bulb, I switched it for a flourescent replacement...including my recessed spots in my ceiling.
Not only have I lowered my electric bill, but I'm making life easier for my air conditioner, which runs about 11 months out of the year, here in South Florida. The fact that I have removed a big cumulative heat source from my home, in every room, means the A/C runs that much easier.
So my first shot at things was in the name of saving money...now, it obviously means a lot more. I do believe in global warming, and I want to do my part to help. No, I can't "save the world" myself, but limiting my gasoline usage is helping, too. I just bought a really cool scooter (Genuine Buddy) and my gas mileage has changed from my 16mpg City to um...100+mpg!!!! Yes, that's correct! It cost me $4.31 to fill it up on Sunday, and here it is Wed. night, and I haven't even used a quarter of the tank yet! From $85+/week in gas to $4+.
WOW! Not only am I saving money here, but I'm also creating a LOT less polution and greenhouse gases. (Pat on the back, please!)
Anyway...what got you interested in being part of the solution?
